An empirical study on the effects of color feng shui in modern office space on employee creativity and work efficiency

Abstract: Research Background and Motivation: This paper briefly describes the urgent need for modern enterprises to enhance employee creativity and efficiency, and introduces Feng Shui as a potential solution. Research Objective: To explore how the color layout of office spaces, based on Feng Shui's Five Elements theory, can materially influence employees' psychological and physiological energy states (qi), thereby impacting their creativity (shensi) and work efficiency (xinggong). Research Method: Using the "field effect comparison method," a "boosting layout" based on the "Five Elements Mutual Generation" principle was set up alongside a "reference layout" of conventional neutral tones. Using Feng Shui's four diagnostic methods of "looking, smelling, asking, and palpating" and qualitative methods such as "work aura assessment," combined with objective data, a three-month follow-up survey was conducted. Expected Findings: Preliminary inference suggests that the "water-generating-wood" color aura of the "boosting layout" can significantly enhance employees' positive moods and inspire inspiration, thereby promoting creativity and work efficiency. Research Contribution and Value: This study provides a scientific basis for modern office space design that integrates traditional Eastern wisdom, and offers a new perspective for corporate management that transcends traditional performance management, focusing on humanistic care and environmental energy optimization.
